Old Workshops and Exams from Math 151-152

These examples of old workshops from Math 151 and 152, and exams from Math 151 and 152 are here for the benefit of any curious students or faculty.

Workshops

As you read the problems remember that typically no more than four problems are presented to students. The ideal problem is somewhat open-ended and may be difficult to understand, just like a "real" problem! In the workshop, students work in groups, with textbook and graphing calculator available and with the instructors circulating to provide suggestions for exploration and discussion. Students then individually write up solutions of at least one problem each week.

The workshops are provided in two viewable formats: GIF format (which most viewers can handle) or PS format (which is of higher quality but may not be viewable for you, depending on your system). Click on either GIF or PS to view the workshop you want.

Exams

Here are links to several old exams. The "sample" midterm and final exams from 1995 were distributed to students and discussed during the workshop before the corresponding actual exam was given. Generally students did the problems themselves. The sample exams were generally longer than the actual exams. The "actual" exams were those given to students in one of the lectures in 1995. In addition actual versions of short "computational tests" on limits and derivatives are supplied.
