Office Hours: Tuesdays and Fridays, 11:30-12:30, and by appointment.
If you do not use a Rutgers University email address of the form user@eden.rutgers.edu and you would like to receive class-related email sent to this list (by myself or other students in our section), you can do one of the following. Options (1) or (3) allow you to use your personal email address (and not just user@eden.rutgers.edu) to post messages to the class.
1. Add your personal email address to the mailing list by sending a one-line message to listserv@email.rutgers.edu as in the following example:
ADD MATH_151_72 john.smith@yahoo.com John Smith
2. Arrange for email forwarding to whatever account you normally do use (for example, user@yahoo.com) by using the "telnet" or "ssh" programs to login to your account at eden.rutgers.edu. At the command prompt, type (quotes included) exactly as below and hit <enter> or <return>:
echo "user@yahoo.com" > .qmail
replacing "user@yahoo.com" with your own email address. If you are familiar with the Unix editing programs emacs, pico, or vi, you can also use one of those to create a file in your home directory called ".qmail" containing the single line
user@yahoo.com
3. Email me from
the address you use and ask me to manually add that to the class e-mailing
list. (This is the least preferred option, as it is more work for me.)
You can unsubscribe from the e-mailing list at any time by sending the following one-line message to listserv@email.rutgers.edu (and not to math_151_72@email.rutgers.edu)from the email address you wish to have deleted from the list:
SIGNOFF MATH_151_72
