Free Tutoring Session by Dr. Z: Hill 116, MTh 7:45-8:35am. Instead of office hours, I will be conducting free tutoring sessions for all my sections. If you need extra help with the homework, I will be going over it in great detail, making sure you understand everything.
GRADE: The max. number of points is 500, with the following breakup.

• Input from Recitation Leader (on her discretion, some combination of workshops, official quizes and homework) 100 points.
• 2 Midterm Exams: 100 points each.
• Final: 200 points.

VERY IMPORTANT:

• Attendance is strictly mandatory and enforced!
• It is also mandatory to take notes of everything I say in class. Please buy a SINGLE-SUBJECT notebook, and write on the cover: Calc II Classnotes. Also write your name and E-mail (in case it gets lost). Don't use it for any other subjects.
• Also prepare a brown envelope and title it: Calc II Homework. The homework is to be handed-in to the Recitation Leader and will be checked by the peer mentors.
• Take careful notes during the lectures (and recitations, of course, but use a different notebook for that), and do all the homework.
• If you have a justified absence, then in your notebook, in the space where you would have taken classnotes, date it, explain why you were absent (e.g. tape-in doctor's note, or a signed statement: "I swear on my honor that I felt so bad that I couldn't make it"), and then in your own handwriting copy all the worked-examples from the corresponding section(s) of the book.
• Every lecture will end with a 10-minute informal quiz, asking you to do some problems covered in that day's class. It doesn't count towards the grade, but I use it first, to check attendance (it is more efficient than calling 75 names), but more importantly, to make sure that you know how to do the problems. On the `quiz' you will also put your E-mail address, so if I see that you need help in doing these problems, I can write you E-mail strongly encouraging you to come to the next free tutoring session (Hill 116, MTh 7:45-8:35am).
