EXAM WARNING
The official time for Math 421:02's final exam is Tuesday, May 11, from 8 PM to 11 PM in the usual room, SEC 206. I'll be there at 7:30 PM. The exam will cover the final section of the course, and will count equally with each of the first two exams. Additional problems will be available covering the first two sections of the course for those students who wish to improve their grades.
Sections 16.7 and 17.5 of the syllabus will not be covered in this class and no exam questions will be based on the material in these sections.
I'll be in my office (Hill 542) on Friday, May 7, from 1 to 3 in the afternoon, and will be happy to answer questions. If many students show up, I'll find a room for us to work in and leave a message on my door. Also I'll be available on Monday, May 10, from 6 to 8 PM. I'll again be available on Tuesday, May 11, from 3 to 5 PM.

Optional portions of the third exam will be available for students who wish to improve their grades in the first two exams. There is already a great deal of material available here for review of Laplace transforms and linear algebra.

Exam 2 Exam 2, in a somewhat more compact form. The last page displayed is entitled New Jersey birds. It is list of some matrices and their RREF's. Some entries are useful in several problems. The embarrassingly wrong minus sign in the RREF for Mosquito discovered by some students taking the exam has been deleted! 4/11/2004
Review problems for the second exam Here is a collection of review problems for the second exam. Solutions sent by students for all problems are here. Students are encouraged to submit answers to problems, and I hope that all students will send me at least one. An award! This certificate was distributed to some students for meritorious behaviour during the Laplace transform part of the course. They came to class. Sigh. 2/11/2004
The Entrance "exam" The purpose of this assignment is to give insight to students very early in the course about some of the methods to be used. Familiarity with all of the material tested here is necessary for success in this course. Also students can see what the grading of the instructor is like!
Solutions are due on Thursday, January 22.
