The exam will cover Laplace transforms and the beginning material on linear algebra (the first two lectures). No calculators or notes will be allowed.

The following resources will be helpful to students when preparing for the first exam. Please also consider the draft formula sheet and, if you wish, send me comments or corrections or suggested additions. A formula sheet will be included with the exam.

Review session
I will be available on Sunday, October 9, at 4 PM in Hill 525 to answer questions and review what we've covered and what will be tested. This is not intended as a substitute for your own study, but as a supplement to that effort!

• Material from the fall 2004 version of the course
  There are suggested review problems and answers. There is also the first exam together with answers to that exam. The material to be tested on the exam in our course is the same as the material tested in this exam.
• Material from the spring 2004 version of the course
  There are review problems and answers as well as the first exam itself and answers to that exam.
