Physics 464 is an experimental course being run for the first time
this semester. The course will be taught by two instructors, Professor Stephen
Greenfield of the Department of Mathematics and Professor Michael
Stephen of the Department of Physics. We also maintain a list of students and their e-mail
addresses.
Technical material for the course is below, in several formats. The
Postscript version supplies superior resolution for mathematical
formulas, either on screen on in a printed version. The gif version
may be easier to view with a variety of browsers and environments.

Problem set #2, due Wednesday, February 5 | html & gif | Postscript |
Note that a misprint (an error! ) in the second problem set has been corrected. A few other minor changes have also been made.
We encourage students to discuss the homework problems with each other and with us but request that solutions be written independently. Please notify one of the instructors if more definite advice is needed about this (for example, if there is a very large amount of joint work on a problem).
