Dr. Z.'s Math 251 (Multivariable Calculus), Sections 22,23, and 24, Fall 2020 (Rutgers University) Class Policy

GRADE: The max. number of points is 500, with the following breakup.

• Homework and Maple Labs: 100 points.
• 2 Midterm Exams: 100 points each
• Final: 200 points.

• 450-500: A ;  
• 420-449: B+ ;  
• 390-419: B ;  
• 360-389: C+ ;  
• 315-359: C ;  
• 270-314: D ;  
• 0-269: F . (used to be 0-279) No Curve!.

• All the FORMAL Lectures will be PRE-RECORDED, and are MANDATORY to WATCH. There is a short "attendance quiz" (a .txt file) that must be returned by the due date. There is also a .pdf attendance quiz, that should be answered by handwriting, scanned and returned by the due date.

  BOTH empty .txt and .pdf quizzes are LINKED to from the web-page of this class. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to download them YOURSELF. Answer them, rename them according to the instructions and email them to DrZcalc3@gmail.com by the specified DUE DATA (see below for more details)

  Whenever possible, you should attend the on-line recitations, if you can, but , of course, they are optional, since this class is AR.

• Both the .txt and .pdf attendance quizzes should be emailed, by the due date to:

  Note: Do NOT REPLY to my message. Start a brand-new message.

  with TWO attachments

  aqXFirstLast.txt [e.g. aq3DonaldTrump.txt]

  and

  qXFirstLast.pdf [e.g. q3AlbertEinstein.pdf]

  It doesn't count towards the grade, but submitting it is MANDATORY. If you could not watch the lecture by the due date, you should email me asap, explaining why, and giving a new deadline. The solutions to the .pdf quizzes are posted a little after the due date.

  I ACKNOWLEDGE ALL SUBMISSIONS (BOTH THE QUIZZES AND THE HOMEWORK) PLEASE SAVE MY ACKNOWLDEGMENT FOR PROOF THAT I GOT IT, IN CASE FOR SOME REASON I LOSE IT.

Arguing about the grade

If you believe that I made a mistake in grading, please write me an email. Please do not argue about partial credit. Only obvious addition mistakes and clerical errors will be considered.
