Students' Projects

Fall 2015: Jane Frank is working with me as part of the Directed Reading Program. We are reading through the book Measure, Topology, and Fractal Geometry by Gerald Edgar.

Fall 2013–Spring2014: Ushma Majmudar worked with me as part of the Directed Reading Program. In fall 2013 we studied chaotic dynamical systems following the book, An Introduction to Chaotic Dynamical Systems by Robert Devaney. In spring 2014 we studied algebraic curves, following the book Conics and Curves: A Concrete Introduction to Algebraic Curves by Robert Bix.

Summer 2012: Walter Cai worked with me as part of the the DIMACS REU. We studied persistent homology of finite subsets of the plane.

DIMACS REU Program

I was the graduate coordinator for the 2013 DIMACS REU program. You can find out more about the program, and the interesting projects at the DIMACS REU home page.
