Sixy Sudoku problems, created by Peter Ritmeester, used to be published (until Oct. 20, 2019) in the New York Times magazine. The rules are like in the usual 9 by 9 Sudoku, but now the board is 6 by 6, divided into six 2 by 3 rectangles, and in addition there are extra regions outlined in bold. The solver has to insert the digits 1 through 6 just once in each a) row, b) column, c) bold outlined region and d) white or gray rectangle. The sixty problems in this web-book were computer-generated at random.
