#WHO WAS GIAN-CARLO ROTA

#ANSWER to Q. #1:	He was a professor at MIT, and a very bold mathematician (one of the greatest mathematicians in the world).
# 			He tried to recruit Dr. Z to become an MIT professor, although something happened to him during this time
#			and he sadly passed away.  Gian-Carlo Rota did a lot of work in combinatorics, functional analysis,
#			probability and phenomenology (last info. from Wikipedia).
