#3 Find an application of gamblerÕs ruin in biology. 

A bacterial infection in a patient taking antibiotics could be an application of gamblerÕs ruin. For each bacteria, either the bacteria will be killed by the antibiotic (-1) or it will undergo binary fission and duplicate (+1). If the population of bacteria reaches a certain point N, the patient will die. If the bacteria population goes extinct, the patient is cured.
