The Rutgers Physics team was the winner of the 30th annual Fred Almgren memorial race trophy, winning with a time of 3:00, at a pace of 7:00 minutes/mile. Second and third places went to the Rutgers Computer Science and Princeton Physics teams. The main Princeton and Rutgers Math teams took fourth and fifth. This year (2005), there were eight teams competing, including one from the Institute for Advanced Study.
The early lead was held by Rutgers Math, and then Princeton Math. Rutgers CS led from the one-hour mark until the last leg; they were passed with less than 2 miles to go by RU Physics, which rallied fourth place to first to win.
