Final Exam
The final exam will be held Friday, May 5, 12:00–3:00 PM, in SEC
203. Please note the room change. It
will cover all of our work this semester with the exception of the final
week: perturbation theory of differential equations
will not be on the final.
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- We will have a review/problem session on Wednesday, May 3,
at 10:00 AM, in Hill Center 425.
- Here is the formula sheet which will be
supplied with the final exam. You will also be given a copy of Appendix
F of Greenberg.
- I will hold my regularly scheduled office hours on Monday, 5/1, but
not during the remainder of the week. I will hold supplementary
office hours on Friday, May 5, 9:30–ll:00 AM, in Hill
520 (for both the classes I teach).

Exam 2
The second exam will be held Tuesday, April 11. It will cover
all our work on calculus of variations.
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- We will have a review/problem session on Monday, April 10,
3:20–4:40 PM, in Hill 705.

Exam 1
The first exam will be held Tuesday, February 28. It will cover
all our work on complex variables; see the sheet
for Assignment 5 for full details.
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- Here is a set of review
problems for the exam revised by the addition of two more
formulas. Here are some short answers to
these problems (not all these answers have been carefully checked).
- We will have a review/problem session on Monday, February
27, 3:20–4:40 PM, in Hill 423 (our usual classroom).
