What do you like best about this course?:

Becky

Becky was an excellent instructor in this course. I learned a majority of the material during recitation. She gave thorough explanations during class that helped me understand each step when solving a problem. She responded effectively to students' questions during class.

Learning new material.

She would do a quick review up the material that pertained to that week's recitation that was very helpful.

The best part of this course was the easiness of the maple labs

The TA. One of the nicest ladies I've ever met. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have learned anything in the class at all.

Becky was very helpful in explaining the subtleties of concepts that we learned in class.

I love math, so the material was enjoyable for me to learn. The Maple assignments are a nice touch to the class-- they introduced me to the computer application of mathematics, and were effective in highlighting key course material.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

nothing, she was perect

Use powerpoints

Make recitations longer or pre-plan some problems to do or just do things a little differently. A lot of time was lost finding out what problems people wanted to do, and then waiting for a student to read out the problem.

I would focus more on complex problems rather than giving a basic summary of the type of problems that could be on quizzes or exams

nothing. I loved the way she taught

Spend more time doing different types of examples

I wouldn't change the course in a large way. I would make the in-class examples a bit more applicable to other fields. For example, using multivariable calculus to solve chemistry/physics problems.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

she briefly went over the subjects covered in lecture and then reviewed the hw before the quiz

n/a

She was great at providing the intuition behind the complex math.

do the homework for the class

This instructor did a superb job of teaching the material in class. She is extremely effective at helping the students understand the material--and understanding the material in a very fundamental way. She is a very talented instructor who helped me massively throughout the course.

Other comments or suggestions::

She was an excellent instructor and it was clear that she was there to help everyone.

Keep teaching, Rebecca! You're amazing at it

I felt that she could not manage time efficiently. Otherwise, she was the best TA ever.
