The FinMath Overview CD-ROM package of MMM DD, YYYY added 3 additional folders to hold the version-2 browser document. The primary change was to create split-frames pages for the sample spreadsheet images linked from the overview page. The top frame contains a expanded description of the particular spreadsheet. The style is similar that used for the Definitions and WalkThru pages. The FinMath Overview CD-ROM of April 11, 2005 contains 3 folders. 1) FinMath_Overview folder contains the browser document based tutorial. The folder consists of: a) FinMath_overview.html, the lead-in document for the tutorial to be opened by a browser. b) FinMath_overview_cover_file, the folder of sub documents and images associated or invoked through the FinMath_overview.html document. The images were processed to reduce their size for faster delivery over dial-up lines, if necessary. Since the sub documents and images are referenced by relative URL addresses, the FinMath_overview_cover_file folder should be located in the same folder or directory as FinMath_overview.html. c) Source_Masters, the folder contains the source material for the images used to create the tutorial. The MS PowerPoint versions, *.ppt, and the associated full resolution output images are included. This source material permits creating new annotated images for the tutorial without necessitating new sessions of FinMath.xls and capturing the results. (The versions of the FinMath.xls spreadsheet used are identified in folders 2) & 3) below.) 2) RUMath621+622.mod3.01_talk folder contains the version of the FinMath.xls spreadsheet and time series dataset used to create the images for my class presentation and the images used in the browser document based tutorial in the FinMath_Overview folder. 3) RUMath621+622_distribMar0905 folder contains the version of the FinMath.xls spreadsheet distributed to the class. It was used to verify that the equivalent image results could be created by the version of the spreadsheet available to the class members. Items 2) & 3) are included so that the results can be independently recreated and new compatible images can be created to improve or enhance the tutorial.
