What do you like best about this course?:

Explained problems thoroughly

I like the subjects that we learn, now how we're taught them though.

Excellent professor

I like his way of teaching

I really like his responsiveness an openness.

I do not like this course.

It is organized

Attendance is not mandatory

I like the workshop style recitations. They forced me to think and to learn the material.

I really enjoyed the way the professor taught calculus. He made it really easy for us to understand material.

The realest professor in Calculus at this school

problem solving

His examples are the one that are most likely to on the quiz or exams.

The calc

Dr. G was a great professor who would go over material as much as needed so we can understand it and responded in a timely manner to questions sent electronically.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

nothing

I wouldn't make students feel like they're stupid when answering questions.

Nothing

I wouldn't do anything differently

Professor Guadagni, is a very smart and helpful man. However, to most students at first he can seem mean and antagonistic towards questions. I felt this way until I started to go to his office hours, that is where I felt like we we're a team working together to master Calculus. I would open up and be a bit more supportive towards students in the lecture

I would do everything differently.

Giving more partial credit for problems

N/A

The exams should be made easier. An alarming amount of the class failed both exams miserably.

When it comes to exams to do more problems that can be challenging.

make the lectures, worksheets, webassign, quizzes, and exams correspond with each other

easier exams and harder take home questions that aren't webassign in preparation for the final

Nothing

Nothing.

Not have it at 8:40 am...

Get rid of webassign, it's a scan to pay extra to do homework.

Nothing

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

increased understanding of course topic

Everything that I learned, I learned on my own. Fend for yourself and don't depend on the professor to do his/her job.

This class has helped me get a better understanding on how each theorem works

Calculus has really gotten me to think in a different way about problems I encounter in my life.

It did not.

N/A

I think learning the fundamentals of this course has helped me become open minded with other situations

the professor was very engaging in all his students

it has made me study more efficiently

He made understanding the material easier.

He taught the concepts well.

Showing proofs and theory (not necessarily needed for Calculus I for the most part. However, it I believe it makes the material meaningful.

Inspired me to learn more about calculus

Other comments or suggestions::

Although Professor G is naturally sarcastic and straight to the point, he really needs to answer student's questions better. I only asked a couple of questions throughout the course because every time I did, Professor G's response was, "I don't understand how YOU don't understand. This stuff is easy".

This course is unreasonably hard for students and the mathematics departments should reconsider the material and exam they are giving us.

N/A

Final should not have 14 problems with sections per question.

No other comments.

Such an amazing calc prof! little snooty at times :) but he was overall super engaged with the class and really helped us at all costs to make sure we learned the material. The way he runs his recitations and lectures is very clear and organized and he presented all necessary information and gave us beyond enough resources to practice. I highly recommend giving out the worksheets with answers ahead of time to allow the students to prepare for the quiz after the intense hour and 20 min workshop. but hey thats just my opinion:) it really helped me out a lot. Overall, such a funny guy, he truly made calculus enjoyable. This class will be missed but off to calc 2 now!

Good teacher, tough exams
