Preparation for the final exam, Math 152:1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, & 9, spring 2009

Date, time, and place for the final exam
The final exam for sections 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Math 152 will be given in

SEC 111 on Busch campus from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 7.
Please be there then.
This exam is very very soon. Please prepare for it thoroughly. It is worth (in terms of weight towards the course grade) the sum of the two previous exams. Please prepare for the final exam thoroughly. My best suggestions for you are below.

The course coordinator and his creations
The final exam will principally be written by the course coordinator. While it might be nice to pretend that the specific author of an exam in a large course doesn't matter, in fact the style and psychology of the writer certainly influence the structure of the questions (hey: compare my/our exams with the previous sets of review problems). Keep that in mind, please. The exam is cumulative, covering all the material on the syllabus. This includes, of course, the last topics studied, such as parametric curves and polar coordinates. Here are the course coordinator's review materials for all three exams.

Formula sheet
Students will get a copy of this formula sheet with the final exam. You may wish to look at it and note what's there and what is not there.

A few more problems from my old exams
Problems 4 and 8 on this exam may be useful to inspect (power series problems). Answers are here.
Also problems 4 and 8 on this exam are relevant (again, power series problems). Answers are here.

Look back a bit ...
Even though I will not have great influence on the final exam, it is likely that topics and questions covered on our previous exams will be relevant to preparation for the final. Therefore (this is urgent!) if you got a question wrong on the first or second exam, assume that the same question will be asked on the final exam, and prepare for that question. I am serious.
Our first exam;   answers to that exam;   our second exam;   answers to that exam.

A sort of review session; some office hours; Math 152 on TV!!!
I have reserved SEC 111 on Tuesday, May 5 (I won't be available Wednesday), to run a sort of review session for Math 152 beginning at 4 PM. I will ask students to do problems from the textbook for each section of the syllabus. I am willing to help volunteers. If there are no volunteers, we'll skip the problems!

Mr. Jin will be available to help in his office (Hill 523) on Wednesday May 6 between 1:40 and 3:00pm. Mr. Yin will be available to help in his office (Hill 620) on Wednesday, May 6, between 3:20 and 6 PM.

There will be a Math 152 televised review on Tuesday, May 5th from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm on RU-tv channels 8 and 60. Students can attend the live broadcast at 111 Tillett Hall in Livingston. They can also watch the webcast at http://rutv.rutgers.edu. The review will be archived for on-demand viewing at http://rutv.rutgers.edu. Rebroadcasts will be shown at these times:
Tuesday, May 5th at 9:30 pm;   Wednesday, May 6th at 10:30 am;   Thursday, May 7th at 11:00 am.

YES: ALL MATH 152 ALL THE TIME!!!
