Animated gifs for the wave equation

Here are some moving gifs created by Maple for the two examples discussed in class, and handed out here. The files shown total about three-quarters of a megabyte and might (!) take some time (!!) to transfer.

The first example
The initial velocity was 0 and the initial position was a triangular shape. Remember the wave velocity is 1, so units of time and space are the same numerically. These are 25 pictures taken over the time interval from 0 to 47.124, which is essentially 5 times 3Pi units of time.

PositionVelocity

The second example
The initial velocity was was a square impulse and the initial position was zero. Remember the wave velocity is 1, so units of time and space are the same numerically. These are 25 pictures taken over the time interval from 0 to 47.124, which is essentially 5 times 3Pi units of time.
