What do you like best about this course?:

Fei really is a character, he is the first math TA I've had that's been able to hold my interest for the whole class period, and I've learned as much from him as I have from the actual professor.

Fei's examples and explanations cleared up many of the things we learned in class. Always willing to explain things and put a lot of work putting together slides to help students!

Learning tips to help solve sometimes difficult looking equations.

The recitation and all the extra sources Fei posted to assist us in learning.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

He strayed away form the curriculum a bit and taught us things we did not need to know, but he meant well.

It really bothered me that Mr. Fei would try and teach us new material during recitation and then quiz us on it. The recitation would have been better spent answering student questions. I am glad he stopped making us peer-grade our quizzes because that should be done by him and not us. Aside from this, he is a very nice guy and wanted us to do well.

Avoid teaching methods that weren't introduced in class already (COMPLEXIFICATION) as this both confused and agitated the entire class.

Keep to the rubic. Sometimes would go off track.

Sometimes he brought in different topics that may not have actually pertained to what we learned in lecture and then quizzed us on his new material. I rather him quiz us on what we learned in lecture while still teaching us his own methods.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

He really has a passion for mathematics that's palpable, he really wanted us to go above and beyond what we normally had to do, which I really admired about him.

Always willing to help.

Chapter overviews

It has made me think of how interconnected mathematics can be by bringing in different methods together to find different ways to obtain a solution.

Other comments or suggestions::

He's a great guy. I would love to have had him as a TA for all four semesters of Calculus, because he really does care about his students.

Overall, above satisfactory and was good with spending extra time with students to help them understand difficult topics.

He makes himself very available to meet with students who are struggling with the material
