What do you like best about this course?:

My professor.

brooke knows her stuff.

Ms. Logan was always looking for ways to help students

That it helped me understand more about fundamental concepts in calculus

All

I love the way she goes over problems and teaches it. Also, she seems so interested in what she does. The she teaches you can see how much she really loves math and it makes it so much easier to learn.

she is very enthusiastic about math.

Everything was okay, but Brooke Logan.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

Be less rude to students, Brooke is pretty impatient and rude. She is not a bad instructor but I did take it personally when she told me to "Stop." when I tried to ask her a question. She did realize that students were rubbed the wrong way by her and did her best to improve her image. I hope the best for her and if this was her first time instructing then I can let these things slide as they were just probably a consequence of nerves.

i'd be a little less critical and nitpicky. i wouldn't announce "put your phones away, i dont want to see any electronics" at the beginning of every single class. It's great that she asks what we would like to cover in class but she could be more assertive in her material. she should cover what she had planned in class and then take questions after. Workshop time isn't as important as doing some more review in my humble opinion.

Go over more material in recitation as opposed to just doing the workshops

Grade with equal amount of correctness and effort, not just correctness.

No where

Only thing I can say is I would ease up on the workshop grading.

not be as mean

nothing it was great

Not hire Brooke Logan as the TA.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

N/A

n/a

Prepared me for calc 2

Helped me to understand the concepts of calculus that I can use in my major.

Any way

The way she was so enthusiastic about math made me wonder if I would be able to love my future work one day, and encouraged me to work harder to get in a field I love as well.

she helped explain difficult topics very well

No way. Worst ta ever. Half the stuff she teaches, it doesnt make sense. Shes demaning and degrading. She calls every problem cute, is extremely stuck up and her atttude the students is horrible. and is not able to do any of the problems herself. She grades so harslhy the class averages on our tests, workshops, or quizzes were insanely bad. And when you go to her for help she makes you feel stupid and is very deameaning. She overcomplicated everything in that class. If you didn't think that is possible please sit in a class with her. Please do everyone a favor and actually find a ta that knows calculus and knows how to teach and be there for students.
