Final Exam
The final exam will be held Friday, May 10, 12:–3:00 PM, in SEC
216. It will cover all of our work this semester with the exception
of the final lecture and a half: Lagrange multipliers and calculus of
variations with several independent variables will not be on the
final. Schwarz-Christoffel transformations will be included.
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- We will have a review/problem session on Wednesday, May 8,
10:00-12:00 PM, in Hill Center 124.
- Here is the formula sheet which will be
supplied with the final exam.
- I will hold supplementary office hours on Friday, May 10,
10:00–ll:00 AM, in Hill 520.

Exam 2
The second exam will be held Tuesday, April 16. It will cover all
our work on Chapters 23 and 24. (The Schwarz-Christoffel transformations
will not be covered, although they will be on the final exam.)
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- Here is a practice exam. This was Exam 2
last spring. Here are some short answers for the practice exam.
- We will have a review/problem session on Friday, April
12, 1:40-3:00 PM, in Hill Center 124.
- Extra office hours: I will hold office hours on
Monday, April 15, 9:45–11:15 AM, in Hill 520.
- Solutions to the exam have now been posted on Sakai.
Exam 1
The first exam will be held Thursday, February 28. It will cover
all our work through chapter 22, but not the Schwarz-Christoffel
transformations that we will discuss on Tuesday, 2/26. Remember that we
omitted section 22.5.
- No calculators are to be used on the exam. I will try to make
sure that all computations are simple.
- A set of review problems is posted on Sakai; these are problems taken from
exams in earlier semesters. Note that other problems from earlier exams
have been included in the homework.
- We will have a review/problem session on Wednesday, February
27, 10:20–11:40 AM, in Hill 124 (our usual classroom).
