To Think in a Symbolic-Computational Way..

By Doron Zeilberger

Delivered Sept. 17, 2015

Videotaped lecture:

Abstract: Currently, symbolic computation is still a small, fringe, discipline, at the borderline of math and computer science, with relatively little prestige. But this will change very soon, since once people (including those working in this area) would learn how to FULLY think in a symbolic-computational way, mathematics would grow exponentially, both in quantity, and especially in quality.

[This lecture was delivered on Sept. 17, 2015 at the Fields Institute's (Toronto) Workshop on Symbolic Combinatorics and Computational Differential Algebra organized by Manuel Kauers, Peter Paule, and Greg Reid]
