What do you like best about this course?:

Dr. Z was such an awesome lecturer. He was passionate, outgoing, loud, verbal, helpful, smart, kind, and hilarious. I would not want any other professor to teach me this course. He also pushed us very hard with homeworks due every week, quizzes every week, and attendance quizzes everyday. I also really liked the fact that he had a cell phone policy and would call students out for using one. I hate that kids use cell phones in class, and I'm glad Dr. Z is on the same page.

How Dr. Z keeps the class interested

Instructors enthusiasm

The way the professor was actively teaching

Teacher's enthusiasm

His enthusiasm and his willingness to always help

The overall layout, ie the fact that the professor makes up his own problems that encourage learning.

Dr.Z is very organized and clear about what he expects from the students. Unlike many professors, Dr.Z has a routine that the student can follow consistently.

I got a good teacher.

Fully and thoroughly explained the material

Enthusiasm

Dr.Z is the man.

The professor shows great interest in the course subject being taught and makes himself readily available for extra help and office hours.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Change the grading scale to curve towards the average students performance for each semester

Nothing

change attendance policy

Nothing

I would ease back on notebook checking. This is definitely excessive.

Curve the class, or shift the grading scale! many of the students work hard in this class.

Teach it just like Dr.Z

more example problems in class, slightly slower pace

N/A

I would assign more HW problems from the book

I would hand out the solutions for each homework.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

He really made me want to pursue Math as my career. But, since I'm graduating in Civil Engineering, maybe I will have to come back and fulfill that destiny later on. Dr. Z is an amazing guy, and I want to live up to his caliber one done.

mentioned how google / internet works

I would love to go on and do graduate level calc

He generated a great interest in the material and made learning it easier

In many ways.

Made the material enjoyable and pushed for a clear understanding of the material.

He is the nicest guy. He wants people to learn and do well and he proves it by taking the time to help people anytime. Give this man a medal. Makes a course that could be boring very fun and interesting. Probably the only good teacher I've had so far at Rutgers.

Dr.Z is very passionate about Math and this definitely carries over to students, I hope to be that passionate about my career path.

Other comments or suggestions::

Thank you so much Dr. Z, you are an amazing guy and great professor.

Potentially instead of handing out exams and quizzes one by one, just let students pick them up themselves at the end of class. This wastes time

Dr.Z teach other math professors/ all professors at the university how to teach!

Calc5 Rocks!

lectures were almost always rushed and expects us to know more than is taught in the lectures.

Dr. Z's the best.
