What do you like best about this course?:

Dr. Z made a complicated subject much simpler with his explanations. Being forced to take notes and do the homework was also good for learning the material. He took the time to learn students' names and truly cared about each and every student. Definitely the best math course I have taken so far!

Dr. Z is the best professor ive ever had

Dr. Z is literally the best teacher I've had at Rutgers, and he is the best part about this course. He genuinely cares about his students and is a great person.

The professor

I love how Dr. Z is so enthusiastic and excited! He makes me look forward to math class and keeps my attention with his bursts of energy.

This man is so passionate about the subject that he keeps the entire class constantly engage. Also, he made an effort to learn as many people's names as possible.

The Professor is wonderful! The course as a whole is stupid but he makes it as easy as possible and tries to do his best to help students out.

the instructor's enthusiasm

DR Z is the best math professor i have had to date

Dr. Z is a very fair, understanding teacher. He gave the students every opportunity to do well.

Everthing

The professor.

His method of teaching made the course both fun and educational.

The professor

Dr.Z's teaching method!

Learn a lot.

Dr. Z helps us not only understand the math, but why it is important. His analogies and stories are fantastic. It is easy to tell that he really cares about his students doing well. The fact that he uses his own time to hold free tutoring on mondays and workshops on fridays is a testament to this. I hope I encounter more professors like him.

The best thing about this course was the professor. Dr. Z's enthusiasm for math was contagious and his teaching style is great.

Professor Zeilberger was an absolute delight to have for calculus 2 and his method of teaching us all the problems we may encounter truly helped! I really liked how he went over problems during free tutoring so we could know what to do for harder problems during exams.

Daily quizzes, allowed concepts to become more concrete in my head. Also, Dr. Z. is a wonderful professor.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

I would spend a little more time on the topics

Nothing!

I would assign grades a bit more leniently or consistently. In his mind there is an exact "end" to a problem and taking to few or too many steps to get there both lose you a lot of points.

return attendance quizzes

reduce homework

I wouldn't do anything differently in the teaching of this course but in the grading I would ask the recitation instructor to grade more fairly. Workshops are quite time consuming and I feel the effort I put in was not shown in the grades I received for them.

Nothing, the guy knows what he is doing.

I would not.

Nothing

The cutoff grades were unfair

It is good enough that I will not change it.

There's nothing I would change.

Nothing.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

Helped me better understand calc 2. First time i took it i failed. Dr. Z made it easier

This course made me want to learn more

Yes!

he made calc seem interesting

I am not thinking of majoring in math because Dr. Z has accomplished so much in his life and what he taught us he made sure to not the practical applications. Seeing how math is so important in every aspect of life made me consider a career in it.

Made calculus enjoyable

The instructor was very good, he encouraged us to do our best and gave the students many chances to excel in the course.

Great teaching methods

Make me think differently.

This course was pretty difficult, forcing me to adapt my way of learning to keep up. I will take this skill with me.

Dr. Z's explanation of the material was on point and easily understood. He simplified everything so well that I could grasp each concept very easily. He made me enjoy math even more than I did beforehand.

Made me really learn all those precalc/ algebra 2 concepts i never really bothered learning.

Other comments or suggestions::

Dr. Z is amazing.

Dr. Z's teaching style is great, he is a fun lecturer who keeps his students interested by forcing participation and shows the students he cares by remembering their names and giving them the tools to succeed. His SCCs should be department wide because college shouldn't only be about the grades, if you really learn and understand the material you should get an A, and the SCCs lat you do that.

Best professor I have had at Rutgers to date. Give this man a raise or some more funding.

Best math teacher I ever had.

Dr. Z is an amazing professor

Make sure the cutoff grades are more reasonable.

Dr.Z was simply the BEST professor to have for Calc 2. He knew how to teach the material in an understanding manner and tried to get to know his students. I couldn't have asked for a better professor.

Dr. Z, PLEASE teach Calc IV and V!!!

Dr. Z was by far one of the best Professors I had this semester.

you're awesome dr.z!! - faiq

Best Calc Professor I've had. Clear and effective. I greatly appreciated the opportunity of taking his class.

Everyone says Calc 152 is the worst course for the calculus track, but Dr. Z managed to make this my favorite math class yet.
