What do you like best about this course?:
The format of the class (it is very easy to follow along)
Dr. Z showed us lots of interesting open problems while teaching us all maple. Since maple is a very useful tool, I am sure this will benefit me in the future.
The attempt to really implement and trying to solve things, parallell to the study of the topics. Bringing greater understanding,
If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:
Give more time to complete homework (in particular, it was difficult for me to do homework that was assigned Thursday night and due Monday morning.
Perhaps the course could have used a more clear direction, but jumping from topic to topic as we did was still very fun and interesting
In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:
It has helped me think about using maple to assist in solving problems.
The open problems Dr. Z introduced the class to were interesting both as potential future research projects and as they illustrated a whole field of research very clearly.
Other comments or suggestions::
It might help to double check the names of the students at the beginning of the semester.
It's nice to have a class where I actually want to do the homework.
