Introduction to Shalosh B. Ekhad's
"40 Circuit Board Puzzles"
Written: Dec. 4, 2021
The Rules
Connect the points in the circuit board so that every point is connected to either one or three points (never two and never four) other points,
and so that no area is enclosed. When you are done, all the points must be interconnected.
To get an idea, simply look at the
this problem and its
solution.
[Note: these puzzles appeared during the Fall 2021 (the last one was Dec. 4) in the New York Times Sunday magazine, and
created by Kousha Nejad.]
The Maple package
In order to use the Maple package
CircuitBoard.txt,
that also needs the data set CircuitBoardPre.txt.
To create your own puzzles (and solve them) just download the above two files and follow the on-line
instructions. Have fun!
Of course, you need to have the computer algebra system Maple on your computer.
