This is a picture of comet Hale-Bopp, taken by Dr. Michael Alan Stecker of Los Angeles, California. It was shot on March 15, 1997 with a 300mm lens at f/5.6. He used Fujicolor 800 Plus film and exposed for 15 minutes while guiding on the comet's head.
This is another picture Dr. Stecker took of the comet which was taken on 3-8-97 with a 180 mm f/2.5 Tamron lens for 12 minutes on Kodacolor Gold 400 film.
