Second Chance Club for Hour Exam 1

People not doing well in Hour Exam 1 can get their grades exonerated if they do the following:

  • Prepare a new notebook and write "Calc IV Second Chance Club" on the cover.
  • Do the following extra exercises:
  • Organize all your work well in the notebook and show me the notebook before July 17th.
  • Pass an on-site quiz when showing me your solution.

    People not doing well in Hour Exam 2 can get their grades exonerated if they do the following:

  • Prepare a new book and write "Calc IV Second Chance Club" on the cover. If you already have such a note book from SCC1, just continue to use the same notebook.
  • Do the following extra exercises:
    • Find the following lists of problems on second order linear ODE with constant coefficients
      List 1, List 2, List 3
      and do Problem 2994 - 3002, 3020 - 3038.

    • Find the list of problems on Euler's equations and do Problem 3068 - 3076.

    • Find the list of problems on general second order linear ODEs and do Problem 2971 - 2975.

    • Find the following PDF file on factorizing polynomials

      Read Section 5.4, try all example problems and do Exercise 51 - 70 on page 40 of the pdf file (page 348 of the book) .
      Read Section 5.5, try all example problems and do Exercise 9 - 46 on page 52 of the pdf file (page 360 of the book).
      Read Section 5.6, try all example problems and do Exercise 43 - 70 on page 61 of the pdf file (page 369 of the book).
      Read Section 5.7, try all example problems and do Exercise 1 - 66 on page 67 of the pdf file (page 375 of the book).
      If you really do all the exercises, then after that you may probably find yourself addicted to playing such a game. I don't recommend to resist such an addiction. Just do all other exercises and it will accelerate your speed greatly in solving problems in homogeneous ODEs.

    • Find the list of problems on higher order linear ODEs with constant coefficients and do Problem 3045 - 3058, 3060 - 3065.

  • Organize all your work well in the notebook and show me the notebook before July 17th.
  • Pass an on-site quiz when showing me your solution.
