What do you like best about this course?:

The workshop questions made me use my brain more effectively.

Chloe did a great job in helping me understand the material better.

She always wants to tell and provide us with good materials to study. She cares about us answer our questions right away via e-mail.

I like that the professor makes you think.

I liked the group work

I like how engaging she was and how dedicated she was to helping us learn the material. I feel that she was a big part of my success in this course.

The teaching method

I like that we reviewed topics from the lecture that were unclear and saw a different way to solve them.

The way the classes build offof each other

Helpful and encouraging

The workshop classes, I learned the most from them.

It is a review for what was not understood in lecture

Her upbeat attitude toward subject and willingness to help if you didn't understand a problem.

I liked the routine of notes, workshop, and quizzes. Also Chloe and Jacob were a pleasure to be around and always encourages a safe, progressive, environment for discussion and learning.

Problem solving.

If you were teaching this course, what would you do differently?:

Same as My Instructor.

Go over the lecture a little more during workshop.

I would go over review more in depth because exam questions are mostly held on difficult questions not easy ones.

I would demonstrate how to solve sample problems and then proceed to assign practice problems for independent practice. The sample problems must mirror that of what is going to be on tests.

try to make the webassign less computational heavy

I think that I would take more time answering students' questions on the material rather than just reteaching the material in class.

Quiz at the end of the class

I would get rid of the workshops and focus more time on reviewing the lectures.

Spend more time explaining how to do problems

None

Nothing

Begin with asking what homework problems are difficult and based upon that make up quizzes to ensure that the student has understood the material.

Have workshops every other week, and have more teaching in between those weeks.

More time dedicated to notes.

In what ways, if any, has this course or the instructor encouraged your intellectual growth and progress?:

Made me realize my potential to think more.

I felt that I got a stronger basis and understanding for Calc.

She taught me the 'fun' facts of Calculus and I strongly agree! I like that she encourges me to study more

It has pushed me to work independently and has motivated me to work hard.

learned to work along with classmates to solve problems

She reassures us throughout classes and tells us everything will be ok to try and lessen our worries and amount of stress.

She made me realize how I can use material I learn in real life situations.

Made me grow in maths

The instructor would put problems on Sakai that were a little harder than what we did in class so that we could see how to approach harder problems.

She encouraged creative thinking and problem solving

Made me want to do better

Encouraged us to do practice problems, go to office hours, and provided us with a lot of material to help us prepare.

Always promoting math.

Helped me understand what exams are like and how to prepare for them.

Although I have already taken Calc 1 in high school, this course provided me with a more in depth outlook on the subject and helped for further understanding.

The instructor has given help when I needed it and made herself available for office hours, which is very helpful.

Other comments or suggestions::

Thank you always . really!

None

Excellent teacher, there possibly can't be a better one.

She is perfect

Go over homework problems first as well as go over lecture very briefly, assign quiz, and then assign workshop problem to build a strong foundation.

She's a really fantastic TA.

Truly thankful for Chloe's kindness and being approachable. Enjoyed going to office hours and receiving her eager help.
