G Chudnovsky identified 3 sub-problems involved in applying Pade Approximation to Diophantine equations. With Mike Bennett and Greg Martin, the speaker has made progress Chudnovsky's problem C. In this talk, for which no knowledge of Pade Approximation is needed, I present a problem whose solution contains some of the elements of our work on Pade Approximation.
