Course Information

Course Textbook: Elementary Linear Algebra: A Matrix Approach, 2nd edition by Spence, Insel, & Friedberg (ISBN # 978-0-13-187141-0). For extensive course material please consult the Math 250 main course page. The prerequisite for 650:250 is Calculus II. It is suggested that you have a calculator for this course, though all of my quizzes and exams will be written so that you can complete them without one; helpful instructions and tutorials on using MATLAB to further study the course material are also listed on the main course page.

There will be two examinations during the term, and a cumulative final. The lecture schedule and exam dates are listed in the syllabus; please contact me TWO WEEKS prior to any exam if you have an excused absence. Weekly homework and quizzes will typically be due on Thursdays. While I do not require attendance, you will be responsible for all the material covered in lecture, including announcements, changes to homework as well as the corresponding sections assigned from the text.

Grading Scheme: 20% Homeworks/Quizzes, 40% Midterms (20% each), and 40% final.
